Class 360 - National Express East Anglia
The first Desiro UK 25kV AC electric multiple unit trains were delivered in 2003 and are operated by National Express East Anglia (formerly 'one') running from London's Liverpool Street Station to Chelmsford and Clacton. The 21x4 car trains are maintained in the shared Ilford train care facility in Essex where Siemens has a dedicated road.
The contract dictates that 20 of the 21 EMUs must be in traffic each weekday. Siemens does all the technical work including planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, overhaul and the provision of spare parts, while National Express East Anglia cleans the trains.
