The 16x4 car fleet of 25kV AC electric multiple units was introduced in 2000 and built in partnership with CAF at Zaragoza in Spain.
The fleet, owned by rolling stock leasing company Angel Trains, is now operated by Northern Rail running on West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive-sponsored services on the Aire Valley serving the towns of Bradford, Leeds, Skipton and Ilkley.
The trains are based on the successful Class 332 Heathrow Express units and provide a high quality commuter interior with air conditioning and audio & visual passenger information systems.
Siemens is responsible for maintenance support at Neville Hill depot in Leeds with a dedicated road at the site. A small team of skilled supervisors and technicians maintain and provide technical support for the fleet including the provision of spares, documentation and training of staff.
