Energy Performance Classes - EN 15232
The European Norm EN 15232 (“Energy performance of buildings - Impact of building automation“) specifies methods to evaluate the impact of functions of building automation and technical building management on the energy consumption of buildings. According to the norm, building automation control systems are subdivided into four energy efficiency classes from A to D.
Siemens Building Automation and Control Systems deliver important prerequisits that ensure compliance with energy-efficiency Class A. Our systems employ globally accepted and independent communication standards (e.g. BACnet or KNX etc. ) to integrate information exchange between products and systems.
The influence of the energy performance classes, always compared to the standard (=C) is shown in the graphic below. For example, in office spaces energy savings of 30% can be reached with class A.
