Engine test stands for automotive industry

Engines are subjected to lifecycle tests during which the produced heat is to be carried away. Cold water is supplied to the individual motor test stand via a central cooling circuit to control:

  • Lubricating oil temperature

  • Cooling water temperature

  • Charging air temperature

Since there is no head wind for cooling purposes on test stands temperatures are maintained at constant levels with the help of heat exchangers; variations should not exceed  + / - 0.5°C.
